Six Flags Elitch Gardens is an amusement park located in the City of Denver. The original Elitch Gardens had a rollercoaster named “Mr. Twister”. After the move to Denver and the sale to Six Flags, Six Flags Elitch Gardens created a ride called “Twister II” based on the original “Mr. Twister”. The amusement park has a water park, shows, attractions, and over 45 rides.
The Denver Botanic Gardens consists of 23 acres and has been recognized as one of the top five botanical gardens in the U.S. The Gardens contain over 32,000 plants from foreign places including Africa, the Himalayas, and Australia. Certain areas of the gardens include the Birds and Bees Walk, Children’s Secret Path, Boettcher Conservatory, Cloud Forest Tree, and June's PlantAsia. Also included are the Romantic Gardens, Japanese Garden, Mile High Garden, O’Fallon Perennial Walk, Monet Garden, Sacred Earth, Water Garden, and Rock Alpine Garden.
In the annual cornfield maze at the Denver Botanic Gardens you are sure to get lost and be amazed. The 5 acre cornfield consists of numerous turning, twisting, and dead-end pathways all within 9-foot tall stalks of corn. There are two 15-foot lighted bridges that oversee the huge corn maze. There is a mini-maze for the little children to enjoy. The proceeds gathered from the maze go towards horticultural, educational, and conservational programs.
